The Challenge – As an aged care facility, St Patrick’s Green required extensive fitout to conform to aged care standards. The challenge was to ensure that tolerance of slabs, soffits and structural elements were in the exact location. Lifts on the main building required a tolerance of +/- 10mm.
The Solution – The lift jump form system allowed the Geosurv team to install an instrument bracket, ensuring accurate setout on every level. The same control was therefore used for all levels, increasing accuracy.
All setout and as builts were performed prior to construction work commencing each day in order to limit movement on the jump. Utilising our 3D scanning technology, conformance reports were created on each level prior to fitout. We created a 3D model of the structures which allowed the team to ensure accuracy.
The Outcome – Setout of lifts and as builts on every level were within tolerance. By scanning each level, we were able to get information to the client quickly and with a high level of accuracy. This resulted in time and money efficiencies and ultimately, a successful project.
